Game Day Notes
The line has switched back and forth with each team having their share of the favorite role albeit at -1. The total line after opening at 49 and hovering between 47.5 to 48 has dropped to 47 at many sportsbooks. The weather wil have no factor in the game with some clouds and a temp in the high 60’s at kickoff. The inactive list held no surprises. With less than 30 minutes to game time the patriots remain the public choice with 70% of the action on the spread line.
NFL Championship Sunday Game Odds – Predictions
The Seahawks winners on Saturday over the Panthers and the Packers who knocked off the Cowboys today will meet in the NFC Championship game on Sunday January 18 at 3:05PM ET at CenturyLink Field. The Patriots got the win over the Ravens on Saturday and will host the Colts who upset the Broncos as a 9.5 point underdog on Sunday at 6:40PM ET. The Indy win was the third spread cover of the Divisional Playoff Round for the dogs. In the NFL Conference Championship games both hosts opened as 7-point favorites. However, early money on the Seahawks has seen the line move to -7.5 at some sportsbooks. Championship Sunday Notes
On the weather front the GB/Sea game at CenturyLink Field has light rain expected with winds 14-18 MPH and a game time temperature of 50 degrees. The Indy/NE game also has moderate rain forecast with wind in the lower teens and a temperature of 45. On the odds board sharp money continues to come in on the Seahawks driving the line up to Seattle -8.5 at many sports books from a 7-7.5 yesterday. The total line on the game has some lower momentum dropping from 46.5 to 44.5 points. The Colts/Patriots game has held at New England -7 at the public books and 6.5 minus marginal extra juice at the sharper outs.
Saturday Divisional Round Notes
The weather is cold in Foxborough with the kick off temperature expected to be 20º F. Eugene Monroe is active for the Ravens and may start at left tackle afte missing three games. For the Pats RB Jonas Gray is inactive so look for Blount to get the load today. Betting action on the game has been even on both sides and the line for the most part has been at NE -7 excluding a couple of days that the books were hanging a 6.5. On the Carolina at Seattle game public money continues to come in on the Seahwaks raising the line to Sea -13 with 90 minutes until kickoff. Rain is light at CenturyLink Field and the wind is 1 MPH. Rookie WR Philly Brown is active for the Panthers which should help their passing game.
Saturday Wild Card Notes
In Carolina light rain is expected and mild winds of 5 MPH. In Pittsburgh much of the same with rain and winds in 10 MPH range expected at game time. There has been some line movement on the Carolina game with public money (56-58%) driving the line down to 5.5. The total on the Ariz/Car game dropped from 38 yesterday to the current line of 37.5. The Balt/Pitt game has held at Steelers- 3, but the over/under has been up and down today getting as low as 44 and now up to a high of 46 probably based on the weather fluctuating weather forecasts.
